Transitional Maxi: Summer into Fall

Happy Sunday!

I wanted to share a recent purchase of mine that I'm excited to wear!  On Thursday I had a photoshoot with BohoBlu where I was put into this gorgeous maxi.  I don't typically wear maxi dresses, however, this one I thought would be perfect for this coming school year.  The color scheme is good for summer, but it also has fall tones, which is why I think it's a good transitional piece.  It has a v shape in the front, and a waist tie so you can make it tighter to give yourself some shape.  The most important element to the outfit for me though is...I can wear it to work!!

So in full disclosure, I literally wear dress pants to work every single day.  I think I currently have two dresses that I can wear to teach in, one for fall, one spring.  Most regular dresses I find always tend to fall too short on me because I have long legs, which sucks!  Therefore, when they put me in this to shoot in and I actually liked it on myself, I was like "Caroline, we going to Friendly and you're going to get this!" To dress this outfit up a little for work, I would pair it with my gold miller sandals, large gold hoops, and some delightful arm candy!

The dress just came out Thursday, here is the link if you're interested : Maxi Dress

Also, side note, more blog posts are coming because....Jake surprised me with a camera for our upcoming trip!!  Now I can take cool pics to share with y'all!  I'm beyond excited, hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Taco Mama

Hi guys! I'm assuming many of you have heard, but for those of you who haven't, there is a new restaurant in Greensboro!

Taco Mama!

It opened late April over on Lawndale Dr, in the same shopping center as Hops. It's a unique addition to the area and gives me a Tex Mex / Cantina kind of feel.
They have a pretty good menu. I've been twice now. (However, I must admit I got the same thing both times...oops) They have a variety of signature dishes, including quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. But they are also accommodating because they have a build your own section as well.

I'm partial to the chicken quesadilla. It's delicious, and you get enough to have leftovers the next day.

I went with Jake one time and Liz another and they got the same taco called the Alabama Redneck. They both gave it a thumbs up! It's comprised of pulled pork and additional toppings.
Their drinks are exciting too. Numerous types of margaritas you can order.  Plus, they offer margarita pitchers, which is a win if you have people with you.

I will say, my only con is the seating arrangement. It's like Hops for those of you who have been there.  You sometimes have to share a rectangular table with strangers.  Which isn't always my fav thing to do, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
I think the atmosphere & menu definitely make-up for it.  However, if you go at a peak time, do be prepared to wait at least 10 min.

Comment below if you've been and what your favorite dish is!

The Perfect Maxi

Happy Sunday Y'all!

I recently placed an order to Lulu's and I'm excited to share with you one of the items that happens to be the perfect maxi for your upcoming events!  It's stylish and affordable.

As you can see I chose to wear it for a Bridal Luncheon celebrating one of my best friends Lizzie!

It's full of vibrant color and a flattering cut.  The back is out and the straps are strings you tie together so that you can adjust them to fit how you like.

I think it's perfect for any event this spring/summer, whether it be a dress to attend a graduation, a bridal shower, a wedding, or a nice dinner on vacation!  Plus it's less than $50, and it's free returns if you decide it's not for you.

Dress linked here!

Vacation was another reason I bought it for myself, Jake and I are going to the Dominican Republic this summer and I wanted a couple of fun maxis to wear to dinner!

Hope you all have a fab day!

Life Update!

It has been awhile y'all.
(Side note, as I typed y'all I have to mention a funky memory.  Last semester I sent my students a message telling them what I wanted them to work on and said "y'all", to which I was made fun of the next day by the class because apparently that's too country?)

Life gets so busy, it blows my mind.  The old people were right...time does go by faster and faster every year, I fee like I can't catch up!  Anyone else?

A couple of new things to mention that do not warrant an entire blogpost to themselves, are

1.  Clean Juice
Not sure if any of you have tried it, but I have now been twice when I'm out shopping at Friendly and it's pretty good stuff, a little over priced if you ask me but def good! I opted for an acai bowl my first time "nutty" something, & a smoothie the next called "so basic" or something like that lol

2. Lulu's
This is for my ladies, I love this online store!  They have all your clothing desires, and best returns if you don't want the item.  I won't order clothes online if I know I can't return them.  I'll drop you the link here! -->Lulu's

3.  Exercise
I'm starting an exercise plan I found on pinterest I wanted to share in hopes that some of you may join in with me! If ya do let me know!  Jake and I have several beach trips coming up,  I'm in 2 weddings, therefore, I want to be in shape lol!  I'm on Day 4 which thankfully is rest day! Woohoo.  I actually looked at the calendar for this and I started Day 1 on a Thursday, if you start there then Sunday & Wednesday are almost always rest day!

4.  Motivation
In the past 2 months I have found myself listening to motivational videos on youtube that feature Eric Thomas & Les Brown and love them!  They get my mind right, I've even but some of their quotes on my board at school. Here is one I like that isn't too long: motivate!
(one of my fav spots starts close to the 11 min mark)
