Ode to Gossip Girl

Where do I even begin y'all?  I feel as if I owe a tribute to Gossip Girl, its writers, cast, the whole shabang.  This show literally makes me so happy, that I can't really explain it, but I'm going to do my best to try!

GG aired on September 17th 2007, the fall of my 8th grade year in middle school.  I remember the advertisements for the upcoming show and thinking, I'm going to watch that! Sure enough I did and became hooked.  GG is the only show I watched from start to finish on television.  I think that part of the reason I became so hooked is the same reason Dan Humphrey was Gossip Girl (SPOILER if you've never watched them all).  Their lifestyle was super fascinating and enticing to a small town southern girl like me.  No one around me knew what Bergdorfs was, heck, even people I know now don't know what Bergdorfs is.  Gossip Girl was like my own secret world where I pretended I was a character as well.
As the seasons continued I was always an avid watcher, however, during the last season I didn't get to follow it as well because that year I went of to college.  Now while the last season only has 10 episodes, it was around the 5th episode when I realized the final season was airing.  I quickly caught up and watch the remaining as they appeared on TV.  When it came to episode 10, the farewell of GG, I remember watching and I kid you not, getting teary eyed at the end.  I was so sad that it was over and I felt like part of me was missing in the days following.  How pathetic right?  But it's true.  I feel like we become so immersed in a show that we truly feel like we are apart of it when watching.

Ever since the end of GG, I find myself rewatching it.  Not just an episode or two, I'm talking season 1 - 6 start to finish.  I'm writing this post today because last night I finished it yet again, and I still get sad!!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH ME?  [[fyi, pretty sure that's the 7th full circle of me watching all the episodes]]  If you don't like GG then just disregard this post, or better yet, go watch it and maybe you'll like it!!
As my fav show always ended, you know you love me,
xoxo

Fall Outfit

Hi babes!

Happy Sunday!  This post has details about my fall outfit I posted on Saturday 10/15!
This outfit is perfect for the fall here in the south where it's a wee bit warmer during the day but cooler in the evenings.  I've paired a maroon cardigan and pale gold scarf with distressed jeans and booties!  Comfort and Charming :)

Fair Fun

Happy Sunday babes!!

Currently laying in the bed enjoying my lazy Sunday morning, and recuperating from yesterdays adventure.  Yesterday my man and I woke up at 6 to go to a cars and coffee event again...only for it to have been cancelled ugh :/ I got up early on my day off for nothing!!!  However, we did make it to the State Fair!

It was the first time I've been since I was a kid.  The food...SO WORTH the calories lol. I had bacon wrapped chicken, and fried oreos with powdered sugar, talk about yum! The walking...not so much fun!  By the time we left I had 18,000 steps, can you believe that?! I woke up this morning with sore swollen ankles, the Fair isn't a joke y'all!

We did ride two rides! The chairs and some other ride I have no idea the name, plz forgive! All in all it was an awesome time! However, be prepared to drop some cash, food and rides are expensive y'all!

Product Empties!

Hello Loves and Happy Friday!!!! It's finally the weekend, can I get an 'amen?!

I'm late getting to this post, ugh my apologies!  It's been a hectic week teaching, but without further ado, here are my two empties and my reviews on them!

My first empty is the
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Makeup Remover.
I seriously live and breathe by this stuff y'all.  I use it every day, morning and night.  At night I use it to take off all my makeup.  I put the product on cotton rounds to remove the makeup.  I also use it in the morning to wake myself up and make sure no make up residue is left on my face for the new day.  Overall I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.  I would not rate it a full 5 due to it not always removing mascara in the way I'd like.

You can buy this product here: Micellar Water

My second empty is the CLINIQUE

Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream

This product I received complementary with my purchase of one of Clinique's foundations.  I use it around 5 days out of the week.  Is it effective/ does it work? I'm honestly unsure.  Being only 22 I've been using it for preventative measures for future wrinkles I'm bound to get unfortunately lol.  Therefore I cannot attest to its wrinkle correction but I can say that it is very nourishing to my eye area!  No awful scent or greasiness.  I'd definitely give it at least 4 stars if not 4.5.

You can buy this product here: Eye Cream

Monday Outfit

MONDAY...UGH.  Let's raise a hand if waking up early to go to work today just blowed! (fyi, my hand is held high!)  After a weekend of sleeping in, it took me two alarms to get my butt out of bed.  When I woke up today I dressed how I felt, tired, sullen, and a little dull.  Overall not feeling this whole adulting thing today.  However, I did what any other first year workers do, (contemplate if it's worth it going to work or can I handle being fired? lol) got up and got ready.  With that being said, here is the outfit that I picked out for myself today.  While I think I put together a simple, cute outfit, this color combo represented my mood.

Below are my Vince Camuto Flats

 Banana Republic Pants

The Loft Sweater

While it is Monday, I hope you've all had a fab day!

Hair Tutorial

Hey y'all, I posted a hair picture on my instagram and I thought a few of you may be interested as to how I achieved the waves.

First things first, the hair tool I use: HotTools 1inch Fliperless Curling Wand [around $50]

Second, how I actually wave my hair.  Well to be honest y'all I am the only girl in my family, I have an older brother and three first cousins that are boys.  Therefore, growing up I was more of a tomboy.  However, by the time I got to my sophomore year of high school I wanted to start doing my makeup and hair so I got into youtube videos.  I started watching Elle and Blair Fowler and ever since then I've been watching youtube videos.  With that being said, it was a video that Elle Fowler posted,  "how to get beachy waves" that I watched and have waved my hair like for the past 5 years. I've linked it below.   This wave look was so popular that when I went of to college people wanted me to do their hair like that.  Freshman year, I lived in an all girls dorm UGH, and I often was asked, "will you do my hair please?"  Enough girls liked how I did it that a couple of them went out and bought the same wand I used.
Elles Video: here

So, to wrap it up and keep it short, sweet, and to the point...
A. You need a Curling Wand or Curling Iron
B. I personally use a heat protectant whenever styling my hair, so I'd recommend doing that next. C. Section your hair off if you want a more defined look, if not just delve into wavying!
D. Spray that hairspray girl to keep them waves looking good all day long!

Hope this was helpful, let me know if you want me doing a hair tutorial actually explaining the process.

Cars and Coffee

Mmmmmm....did someone say coffee?  My new sweetest addiction.
Hey y'all, today I wanted to share a cool event I attended recently with my boyfriend.  It's called Cars and Coffee, it represents its moniker well.  If you're into coffee, have a taste for cars, this event is definitely for you!

The location rotates each Saturday depending upon where you live.  Here in NC they have it in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston Salem.  At least those are the only locations I know of. It begins around 7:30 - 8am and usually people start to dissipate at 10:30am.

The gist of the event is for car enthusiasts to drive their nice cars for show, all while mingling over coffee.  The array of vehicles changes each time I've attended.  However, you can bet on always seeing a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and GTR.  Not to mention a row of old Corvettes along with the new Stingrays, a Mustang line up, Porshe, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.  The list goes on. I'd say I saw over 100 cars last time.

Here is me with my fella's car.

Now, while I do enjoy going to Cars and Coffee, I can only last there but for so long before I'm bored. I always stay longer than I'd like because I know my boyfriend LOVES it.  So ladies, if  your man is as into cars as mine I highly recommend you take him.  It'll score you some major points ;)

XOXO

Trendy Tuesday

Hello my lovelies!!

It's Tuesday, and as I told myself constantly through work today, "another day another dollar".  I hate to rush the weeks by, but I just crave the weekends now.  Ever since I started my first "big girl" job, I'm flat out exhausted by Friday night.  Teaching 9th graders math all week is no joke, yet, you'd think that at 22 I wouldn't be that worn out...wrong! Anyone else with me, especially my teacher friends?!

However, every week I try to separate my teaching life from my personal life, and what a task that is. In doing so, I've turned to blogging to express myself.  I like alliteration so since today is Tuesday, I've deemed the blog post "Trendy Tuesday!"

For today's outfit, I paired my Banana Republic straight legged dress pants with a white v-neck tee from Vineyard Vines, along with an army green cardigan from JCREW.  Shoes are Vince Camuto and the diamond necklace was a 10th birthday gift from my Papa.

Happy Tuesday!
