A Wrap Dress & an Amazing Brunch

A gorgeous new wrap dress & an amazing brunch!

Happy Monday Loves!

Even though it's rainy here, I'm trying to make the most out of my day because I go back to work Wednesday!  Gotta savor these last couple of days of freedom.  Anyways, I wanted to share with y'all two exciting things!

1. This gorgeous new wrap dress I got for half off!
2. I stand corrected somewhat on my last post about the best brunch.

My new fav type of dress... || the wrap dress ||

I've seen a bunch of wrap dresses on insta & in store, I always thought they were cute on the model but would look funny on me so I never tried one.  But Thursday at a local boutique, Boho Blu, I saw this one & adored the color, plus it was 50% off so I said "may as well".
For starters, I couldn't figure out how to put on the dress correctly 😂😂 lol.  I kid you not, I spent two minutes in the dressing room before I had gotten it "right".  Once I did, I was like "cp, you're getting this dress".  I loved it!  I thought it was a flattering fit & color, plus perfect for the brunch date I had coming up with Jake!  Not to mention, Resa & the sales lady liked it, a little support helps me when wanting to buy an outfit.

Fast Forward to Sunday when I wore it, 2 things...
  1. I received a couple of compliments at brunch on my dress.  That always makes me feel like I did a good job picking out clothes, anyone else feel that way?!
  2. I was still putting the dress on wrong 🙈🙈🙈🙈  When putting the dress on it's like putting on a robe.  Once you've got it on, there are two strings to tie. You're supposed to take the left side of the dress & pull it to you because there is a loop on the right side of the dress for the string to go through.  Once you've done that, you take the right side & string, wrap it around the left & the strings meet in the back for you to tie.  However, I was just taking both strings out in front of me, then pulling them to the back & tying.
Honestly, I'll continue doing it my way because I like the way it looks better.  If you do it the "wrong" way, you get a slit in the dress.  I personally love a slit in dresses, I think it gives it character & is more fun.  However, if you do it the "correct" way there isn't really a slit.  In the picture I post below, vs. the one on the website you'll be able to see what I'm talking about.
Whose for doing things different sometimes ?! 🙋

FYI, it's 50% off making it $20!  However, it won't apply until you've added the dress to your cart!

I tried the other brunch spot...

Jake & I went to Scrambled Southern Diner on Sunday & let me just say, hands down BEST BREAKFAST EVER! Oh My Goodness, literally delicious.  Not to mention, I just ate my leftovers this am & the food was STILL good!! However, while they've changed my opinion & have the best food, there are two things I have to bring attention to because they are important to me when choosing a restaurant.
  1. The Wait:  We had to wait for an hour at 10 in the morning.  And from what I've heard it's like that a lot.  You can't make reservations unfortunately.
  2. The atmosphere & space: The inside was nothing special but with food like theirs I guess it doesn't have to be.  I also was not fond of how close we had to sit to other couples, I don't enjoy hearing other peoples convos.
All in all I'm super happy we went, the food was delicious, I just hated the wait time.  So, for future reference my friends, be prepared to wait, but have some of the best breakfast you'll ever have!

**Shoutout to Tay Shrop & B Mabe for the place & food recommendations!  I got the Country Style Skillet & Jake got the Chicken Little.
