2018 Christmas Gift Guide

Y' has been a hot minute.  I haven't written a post since the beginning of August.  I transferred schools teaching this fall and it has been a huge adjustment for me, a good change but again all changes come with challenges.  But, it's finally Christmas time, my favorite season and I'm on a mission to make this the best one yet!  I've put up my tree, already done some shopping, bought my bath and body works holiday edition stuff and even watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer on Channel 2 lol.   Therefore, with tomorrow being December 1st, I wanted to share my holiday gift guide this season based on things I like on my wish list and things I think others would too!

My ultimate Christmas wish right here, I asked for a golden retriever puppy every year for Christmas as a child, I'm 24 and still waiting!  One day y'all!

Transitional Maxi: Summer into Fall

Happy Sunday!

I wanted to share a recent purchase of mine that I'm excited to wear!  On Thursday I had a photoshoot with BohoBlu where I was put into this gorgeous maxi.  I don't typically wear maxi dresses, however, this one I thought would be perfect for this coming school year.  The color scheme is good for summer, but it also has fall tones, which is why I think it's a good transitional piece.  It has a v shape in the front, and a waist tie so you can make it tighter to give yourself some shape.  The most important element to the outfit for me though is...I can wear it to work!!

Taco Mama

Hi guys! I'm assuming many of you have heard, but for those of you who haven't, there is a new restaurant in Greensboro!

Taco Mama!

It opened late April over on Lawndale Dr, in the same shopping center as Hops. It's a unique addition to the area and gives me a Tex Mex / Cantina kind of feel.
They have a pretty good menu. I've been twice now. (However, I must admit I got the same thing both times...oops) They have a variety of signature dishes, including quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. But they are also accommodating because they have a build your own section as well.

I'm partial to the chicken quesadilla. It's delicious, and you get enough to have leftovers the next day.

The Perfect Maxi

Happy Sunday Y'all!

I recently placed an order to Lulu's and I'm excited to share with you one of the items that happens to be the perfect maxi for your upcoming events!  It's stylish and affordable.

As you can see I chose to wear it for a Bridal Luncheon celebrating one of my best friends Lizzie!

It's full of vibrant color and a flattering cut.  The back is out and the straps are strings you tie together so that you can adjust them to fit how you like.

I think it's perfect for any event this spring/summer, whether it be a dress to attend a graduation, a bridal shower, a wedding, or a nice dinner on vacation!  Plus it's less than $50, and it's free returns if you decide it's not for you.

Dress linked here!

Vacation was another reason I bought it for myself, Jake and I are going to the Dominican Republic this summer and I wanted a couple of fun maxis to wear to dinner!

Hope you all have a fab day!

Life Update!

It has been awhile y'all.
(Side note, as I typed y'all I have to mention a funky memory.  Last semester I sent my students a message telling them what I wanted them to work on and said "y'all", to which I was made fun of the next day by the class because apparently that's too country?)

Life gets so busy, it blows my mind.  The old people were right...time does go by faster and faster every year, I fee like I can't catch up!  Anyone else?

A couple of new things to mention that do not warrant an entire blogpost to themselves, are

1.  Clean Juice
Not sure if any of you have tried it, but I have now been twice when I'm out shopping at Friendly and it's pretty good stuff, a little over priced if you ask me but def good! I opted for an acai bowl my first time "nutty" something, & a smoothie the next called "so basic" or something like that lol

2. Lulu's
This is for my ladies, I love this online store!  They have all your clothing desires, and best returns if you don't want the item.  I won't order clothes online if I know I can't return them.  I'll drop you the link here! -->Lulu's

3.  Exercise
I'm starting an exercise plan I found on pinterest I wanted to share in hopes that some of you may join in with me! If ya do let me know!  Jake and I have several beach trips coming up,  I'm in 2 weddings, therefore, I want to be in shape lol!  I'm on Day 4 which thankfully is rest day! Woohoo.  I actually looked at the calendar for this and I started Day 1 on a Thursday, if you start there then Sunday & Wednesday are almost always rest day!
31 Day Bodyweight Workout

4.  Motivation
In the past 2 months I have found myself listening to motivational videos on youtube that feature Eric Thomas & Les Brown and love them!  They get my mind right, I've even but some of their quotes on my board at school. Here is one I like that isn't too long: motivate!
(one of my fav spots starts close to the 11 min mark)

Brunching @ M'Couls Public House

Welcome back friends!

Here I am, yet again with another food post lol.  But y'all, if ya know me you know my 3 favorite things are, food, clothes, and beauty products!  Sports falling in at 4th place (go pack! go panthers!).
Anyways, I feel compelled to share my food/restaurant reviews because I personally read them on other sites all the time to decide where I want to eat.  I like to think of my post as somewhat helpful! (A girl can dream right?)  Below are my thoughts on mine & Jakes Sunday Brunch outing.

We were recommended to try their brunch from Chas, Jakes sister.

Occasion: Brunch

Location: Downtown Greensboro, parking --> decent

Curse This Snow & I'm Apparently Blue Obsessed

Hi friends! Am I the only one who cannot believe how much snow we got?  Oh and guess what!  When I tried to go to work on Friday, my car got my driveway. 😅  My papa had to pull me out.  Gotta love rear wheel drive cars!

On a happier note, I get to go to one of my favorite restaurants tonight !  SAPPORO! If you have not been, you must!  It is the best Japanese cook in front of you ever.  Can you say "white sauce" nommmm!  Therefore, since I'm going out, I get to style myself something cute to wear.  Ergo, this blogpost!

Below is what I'm wearing tonight (yes, I did get ready early just to write this post)

I think I'm blue obsessed y'all, most of my tops are blue....oops.  I attribute it to that my eyes are blue. I also own a lot of black.  Which is funny, considering pink is my favorite color & I own maybe 2 pink tops.
What color do you have the most of in your closet?  Let me know, I'm curious if there is rhyme or reason to the color we buy the most!

Local Restaurant: Sticks & Stones

Happy Sunday Y'all, I'm bringing you a blogpost all about pizza today! YUM!

As I know I've written before, Jake & I are obsessed with food.  Every so often when we can't decide where we want to go for dinner, we check Trip Advisor to look at the top restaurants in Greensboro to get some inspiration!  Our goal is to master the top 10, and we are currently at 7/10, then move on to the top 20.  Which brings me to last nights dinner date, we knocked off #8, Sticks & Stones! WOOHOO

Let's get into it:

Location: It's in a neat location, just a couple of miles from Friendly, however, parking is a b****.  We lucked up and caught someones spot as they were leaving.

Atmosphere: They definitely have an earthy theme going on, I'll insert a pic. But I found it cool & fitting for their motto.  Lets move to that next.

Lucky 32 Restaurant Review: Greensboro

Hooray for the New Year!

I'm so excited to start 2018, and hope you all are as well.  My first blogpost of the year is a Restaurant Review on the place Jake and I went for our annual New Years dinner.
